Milhaud Suite Francaise
This suite is one of the great classics for Wind Orchestra from the 20th century. Each of the movements of this suite are named after French provinces. Milhaud wrote the work during his exile in the United States with a mind to bring via music a message about the travesties of the Second World War. Some of movements use folk song material from the province they represent. The recordings were made during a performance at our 25th Anniversary Concert, at St. Stephen's Church, Tonbridge in March 2014
