Yiddish Dances

This is a fantastic work from one of the greatest living composers of the genre: Adam Gorb.

The clips here were recorded at our concert at St. Stephens's Church, 2012.
Gorb writes that the work ‘brings together two of my abiding passions: the Symphonic Wind Orchestra and Klezmer - the folk music of the Yiddish speaking people.’
It has five moments, all based on Klezmer dances.

Eine Kleine Yiddishe Ragmusik

This work has as much humor and passion in it. Its brilliant synthesis of Scott Joplin with Jewish folk songs has a haunting effect, evocative of 1930’s Berlin.
